and one spent. The spent one smelt strongly of powder as if newly fired. On February 27th, about 9.30 am.m. I went to the Hongkong & Shanghai Bank Garden on the North side

of Des Voeux Road Central and just opposite the Bank. Near the South East corner, Mr. Ho Cheuk pointed out a spot to

I climbed over the fence a little later and examined that spot. I found a small dent in the concrete path, and some small amount of black dust which might have been vul- canite dust. The mark was 9 feet from the wall of the gar- den on the East or Wardley Street side, and 2 feet from the Des Voeux Road wall. I made search in the locality, and five feet further West from the mark I found the piece of vulcanite produced (Exhibit F). That piece exactly fits into the gap on the vulcanite in Exhibit D.

about noon the revolver in Court (Exhibit D) and the 4 live and one spent round in Court (Exhibit E) were handed to me at my office in the Hongkong & Shanghai Bank by Mr. Họ Cheuk, our No.1 Shroff. A little later I handed over the revolver and cartridges to an English Police Sergeant.
